Join us every Friday at the Farm for storytime! Each week we will read a different themed book together, followed by activities based on the book of the week. Activities could include a craft, sensory play, or a game.

Gather in the Garden: U-Pick

Drop into the garden and share in the summer’s bounty by picking your own flowers, veggies and herbs. Enjoy seasonal sips during your thyme in the garden and take home recipes to relish. Each family may take either one bouquet, a limited amount of produce or both for an additional cost. Availability of produce varies weekly.

Family Garden Tea Party

Bring the whole family for a tea-riffic morning in the garden! Savor samples of herbal tea and fresh honey while kids enjoy themed lawn games, a scavenger hunt, and watercolor teacup craft.

"Spill the Tea" Party

On this easygoing evening at the Farm, sample herbal teas, honey from the apiary and snacks made from fresh garden ingredients. As you taste and mingle, enjoy an introduction to the symbolic language of flowers. Dress in your tea party best if you wish, but wear shoes suited for walking on grass and gravel. Potential allergens include dairy and gluten (dairy- and gluten-free options are available).

Natural Yarn Dyeing

Join Tasha Thomas, local fiber artist and owner of Tasha's Tangled Creations, to add color to yarn spun from the Farm's woolly animals. Participate in a natural dye demonstration, learn to transform plants into natural dyes, and take home your own hand-dyed yarn.

Gather around the fire for good food and company at this cozy outdoor cooking experience! The Farm is home to so many furry mammals, such as rabbits, sheep, goats, and alpacas, plus reindeer who are visiting for the season. Meet and learn about these animals then wrap up your experience with a fun craft.

Learn about the history of Black farming in America. In the first session, discover how Black farmers have faced discrimination and land theft since Reconstruction. In the second session, hear from a panel of local BIPOC farmers (a virtual option is available with pre-registration).
