People have lived on the land of Shawnee Lookout for thousands of years. Become acquainted with the engineering accomplishments and cultural beauty of the people who originally called this land home.

April is the time for mushrooms to make their mark by coloring the forest floor. Zoom in on these decomposers while you log this mile-long hike! Magnifying glasses will be provided.

Take a romp in the swamp as you thwomp the competition! Exercise in mucky style for another mile by exploring the water of a wetland. We will be getting inside the water, getting muddy and having fun, so please bring closed-toed shoes and dress appropriately! We recommend guests bring an extra pair of shoes as well. We will meet at the Miami Whitewater Forest Visitor Center and caravan to the wetland.
